How Standing and Daily Caps Work

Standing is the reputation currency for every faction in Warframe. You earn it by completing specific actions tied to each faction and spend it to unlock rewards from their vendors. The crucial constraint is the daily standing cap: most factions share a single daily limit equal to your Mastery Rank × 1,000 plus 4,000. At MR 10, you can earn up to 14,000 standing per day across standard Syndicates.

The daily cap resets at midnight server time (UTC). It applies per-faction in some cases and as a shared pool in others — Syndicates have a shared cap (your total standing earned across all six Syndicates combined counts against the cap), while open-world factions like Ostron, Solaris, and Entrati each have their own independent daily cap.

This means you cannot simply grind unlimited standing for any faction — time-gating is a significant part of the progression system. Planning which factions to advance in parallel vs. sequentially is a meaningful strategic decision, especially at lower Mastery Ranks where the daily cap is tighter.

Syndicates — The Core Six

The six core Syndicates (Steel Meridian, Arbiters of Hexis, Cephalon Suda, New Loka, Perrin Sequence, Red Veil) are aligned in opposing pairs. Gaining standing with one faction automatically loses standing with its opposing faction. The pairs are: Steel Meridian ↔ New Loka, Arbiters of Hexis ↔ Red Veil, Cephalon Suda ↔ Perrin Sequence. Choose which side of each pair to align with carefully.

Standing is earned in Syndicate missions by wearing the faction's Sigil (available from the faction after initial registration) during any mission. Kills and mission completions generate Affinity, a portion of which converts to Syndicate standing based on the Sigil equipped. You can only wear one Sigil at a time per Warframe, so rotate Sigils depending on which faction you are actively leveling.

At higher standing levels, Syndicate Missions appear as special assignments on the Star Chart. These are timed missions with better rewards but require solid builds to complete at the difficulty shown. Syndicate missions are an excellent source of Syndicate Medallions — collectibles found in the mission that provide bonus standing beyond the Sigil contribution.

Best Factions for New Players

  • Steel Meridian: Friendly to new players; offers solid Augment mods (Smite Infusion, Mag's Magnetize mods) and decent weapons. Standing acts provide good introductions to Syndicate missions.
  • Arbiters of Hexis: Provides Exilus mods and useful Augments. Their philosophy rewards skillful play — a natural companion to improving as a player.
  • Ostron (Cetus): Opens access to the Plains of Eidolon and Eidolon hunts, which reward powerful Arcane Enhancements. Focus on Ostron once you are comfortable with mid-game mechanics. Also unlocks fishing and mining for open-world resources.
  • Solaris United (Fortuna): Access to the Orb Vallis open world and Raknoid bounties. K-Drive is earned through Solaris, as is the Moa companion and unique Fortuna weapons. Important for Heart of Deimos progression.
  • Entrati (Deimos): Unlocks the Helminth system — the ability to replace one Warframe ability with another frame's ability. This is a major mid-to-late game power multiplier. Pursue Entrati after completing the Heart of Deimos quest.
  • Kahl's Garrison: Provides Archon Shards — powerful build boosts for Warframes at endgame. Only relevant once you have completed the Veilbreaker quest and are in the late game.

Maximizing Daily Standing Efficiently

With a daily cap, efficient use of your standing budget matters. For Syndicates, the fastest method is running Syndicate missions when they are available — they reward large Medallion bundles that convert to thousands of standing in a single turn-in. Outside Syndicate missions, wear your Sigil during regular gameplay to passively accumulate standing through all mission Affinity earned.

For open-world factions, Bounties are the primary standing source. Cetus Bounties in the Plains of Eidolon rotate hourly and reward Ostron standing alongside resource drops. The highest-level Bounties (Tier 4–5) provide the most standing per mission but require solid builds. Running several Bounties per day efficiently fills Ostron standing toward the daily cap.

Track your daily standing progress in the Profile menu under each faction. Approaching the cap, switch to a different faction (if actively leveling multiple) or stop earning standing for that day. Wasting earned Affinity by hitting the cap mid-mission is a common inefficiency to avoid.

Frequently asked questions

What is the daily standing cap in Warframe?

The daily standing cap for most factions is (Mastery Rank × 1,000) + 4,000. At MR 10 this is 14,000 per day. The six core Syndicates share this cap. Open-world factions (Ostron, Solaris, Entrati) each have their own separate daily cap.

Which Syndicates should I join as a new player?

Steel Meridian or Arbiters of Hexis are the best starting Syndicates for new players — they have solid rewards (Augment mods, weapons) and their opposing factions (New Loka and Red Veil respectively) are less critical to early progression. Joining both aligned Syndicates simultaneously (e.g., Steel Meridian and Cephalon Suda) is fine since they are not opposed.

What is the Helminth system and how does it relate to Entrati?

The Helminth is a biological organism in your Orbiter (unlocked via the Heart of Deimos quest and Entrati standing) that can absorb one of any Warframe's abilities and inject it into any other Warframe, replacing one of their four abilities. This creates powerful ability combinations. Reaching Entrati Rank 3 (Honored) is required to access Helminth.

How do I earn standing for Ostron/Cetus?

Earn Ostron standing by completing Bounties in the Plains of Eidolon (accessed through Cetus on Earth). Higher-tier Bounties provide more standing. Fishing and mining in the Plains also reward tradeable resources that convert to Ostron standing. Eidolon hunts at night provide the most standing per run but require advanced gear.

Do Syndicate Medallions give standing?

Yes. Syndicate Medallions are collectibles found in Syndicate Mission tilesets (in hidden cache locations). Turning them in at the respective Syndicate vendor grants standing equivalent to their listed value, which does count against your daily standing cap. Medallions can add thousands of standing per Syndicate mission if you find all of them.

Can I be allied with more than one Syndicate at a time?

Yes — you can maintain positive standing with multiple Syndicates simultaneously as long as they are not opposing pairs. You can advance Steel Meridian and Cephalon Suda at the same time. Doing so requires rotating your Sigil between the two factions during gameplay to direct your Affinity earnings toward each.
